  1. As a sometimes journalist I find more and more that the the
  2. term free press is a myth. The harsh reality of the
  3. publishing business is that economic concerns take precedence
  4. over editorial matters. You never put your banker in a bad
  5. light and you end up going along to get along. Style, content
  6. and slant largely being declared by management. Which is as
  7. it should be. He who pays the piper calls the tune.

  9. The FREE PRESS is a program that is an attempt to address
  10. this problem. This program is not copyrighted and anyone can
  11. do anything they damn well please with it. I impose no
  12. conditions and retain no rights, responsibilities or
  13. royalties. I declare this program The FREE PRESS to be public
  14. domain.

  16. I make no warranties about this program  and take no
  17. responsibilities for anything anyone does with this program.
  18. This program is a machine to publish text and I am its
  19. manufacturer. I can no more be held responsible for the use
  20. people make of my machine than the manufacturer of a printing
  21. press can be held responsible for what is printed on his
  22. presses.

  30. directly to any one that sends me ten bucks. The
  31. contribution in no way is required for any the use of the
  32. program. It is only to cover my cost of handling. While the
  33. program is free the postage and disk ain't, another harsh
  34. reality of life.

  37. preclude copyrighting the material that appears in it.

  40. distribution. I would like credit as author of the program
  41. that makes the magazine.

  44. this approach to publishing.

  47. the improved dissemination of information. This type approach
  48. can greatly speed the spread of information.

  51. public domain. A program titled the FREE PRESS should live up
  52. to its name.

  55. restrictions would defeat the concept.

  57. I personally believe that one should sign ones work but a lot
  58. of folks don't. Anonymity certainly is required in some cases
  59. but it is badly abused by most that use it. To many it is
  60. little more than writing on the bathroom wall.

  63. reasonably attractive package. It is not difficult to do.

  68. have considerable expertise in programming. Several
  69. contributors have experience in marketing, retail, consulting

  71. hard disk maintenance and backup. Also reviews on Reflex and
  72. Turbo Basic (Great).
